oops - just posted this and on doing so realised that 'farewell' was last weeks word... well this is a tribute to that fine word last week!

I've been with my niece for the week and she has inspired me...

The focus of this weeks very quick illustration is of course the brides train. I didnt feel like drawing a locomotive this week. :D

I'd just like to state that no animals were seriously harmed in the making of this illustration  they were both being very very naughty so Tarzan had to pop them into a sleeper hold so that he could talk to them about manners later when they woke up and were more settled.

I think I'm a lot like Daryl, and there are a large number of cooking shows on television these days.... they inspire me to cook and eat. Mmm, I had better start watching a few fitness shows instead.

I might have to change my blog security settings and stop the potential for anonymous comments. I left it on so people who didn't have blog etc. could leave me comments without having to sign up to anything. Sadly some 'orrible little spammers have found my page. What pathetic little lives they must have to put energy into posting asinine comments on other peoples blogs to try and lure them into visiting webpages.... Oh well, it takes all sorts I guess.

Hello and welcome to another illustration Friday word prompt. I must say here thank you to the wonderful people who pop by every week (or even once in a while) and especially to those of you who leave me comments, they help me to refocus and find the time and space to keep doing something I love doing.


This weeks word is storm and this is my illustration.  I feel she has a story. She isn't soaked to the skin yet so she cannot have been out in the storm for too long but she seems to have a purpose or need to be out in that weather....

"It gives young fairies unrealistic expectations to aspire to" she recently said.

I was going to draw a red bull but I thought that was product endorsement and I didn't want to do that. 

Illustration Friday Myth.

For years the old folk of the town talked in hush tones about the woodland werewolf, said to come out every lunar eclipse.  It was told that it was a strange creature, that seemed to resemble a collection of twigs and branches and clumps of fallen foliage moulded together in the form of a wolf. It had a lust for blood and could be heard baying at the moon.

None of the younger locals had ever seen one and strongly believed it to be an old myth, but every eclipse, all the towns people locked their doors and barred their windows just in case.

Every morning after a night of a lunar eclipse, farmers would find strangely mutilated and half devoured animals in their herds.

Illustration Friday _ Explore

I know there have been the sad and empty sounds of crickets chirping around my blog lately, I'm probably like everyone else at this time of year and just extremely busy.

I have a few weeks off now so I might have time to put into my blog as well as doing all of those other things that keep us busy at this time of year.

Here is a little something for the illustration Friday word of "explore" This little fairy has ventured away from home and is enjoying playing and exploring the neighbours garden after the rain.

Illustration Friday - Tree

Something a little bit different today. I was trying out different effects on a tree I drew and then painted in Photoshop. This one really struck a chord with me.

I think its because I have been reading The Folk of the Faraway Tree (etc) by Enid Blyton with my daughter and this just seemed to somehow have a magical lilt to me.
