3 days of work and now 4 days off! That's what I call a good work week!
Wish it were always like that and then i could spend more time creating... :)

I do love to dabble

I am building up my portfolio at the moment, trying to mix it up a bit and add a bit of variety. I'm meant to be getting some of the art where the main character isn't standing looking out at me, but, I do find I am drawn to them as I go through my art folders. :)

Illustration Friday _ Energy

The Illustration Friday this week is "energy"
It led me on a bit of a journey this week. I was going to do someone lifting weights or in some way exerting lots of energy. Then, in thinking about that, I started thinking about when i offered to carry my little daughters school bag and found it ridiculously heavy ....  then I started thinking about children having to carry such  a weight on their back.
All of that morphed into this picture and  this little boy is now devoid of energy after carry a heavy weight, whether that be the one on his back or a deeper one we cant see. Maybe he has to channel his energy into studying for an exam... What do you think
Anyway,hope brighter days are ahead for him.
I know this weeks word took a lot of energy to bring to fruition for me.... :)

Illustration Friday this week is Creature. I was feeling inventive. This is the little known Himalayan doyakorse. Don't let her appearance fool you, whilst she seems docile enough she could take you're arm off if your not careful! 

Oh poo! i missed the deadline for the illustration Friday word "Entangled" and I even had an old one ready to go.... too busy, that's my problem. Oh well, enjoy it anyway

Snorkelling lesson number 9

The jury is out on this one, she is not my favourite illustration, but I don't have more time to adjust her. 

I figure this girl is having snorkelling lessons, perhaps at our local aquatic centre where dibbydabby illustrations has done some character design for swim classes.... :) ..... (Yah!!)..... :)

Well yet again I have been absent from my blog  for yonks...

I have been very lucky to  have been working on some exciting illustration projects which is wonderful for me, I'm finally edging toward my dream :)

Illustration Friday survielance

Just a quick doodle today, surveillance makes me think of spies, and spies make me think of Spy versus Spy which I love reading in Mad magazines whenever I can . I haven't bought a Mad for a little while now, might be time to invest in some more I think.
This is a classic spy joke which never loses its humour for me. I'm sure the spy versus spy guys have done it before too.

Illustration Friday - Sweet

Good morning - well it is as I write this here. Its a four day weekend for me - Yah! No wonder I'm happy!

The Illustration Friday word this week is sweet so I decided to put this little illustration up for my submission.

We have a sweet little friend who had a birthday recently and she requested a painting of bunnies and these are the bunnies I came up with for her. I was surprised as I had previously done a painting for her and thought one would be enough as children probably wanted toys and fun things for birthdays more than artwork, Because of this it was a bit last minute when she asked me but I felt really proud that she did. 

I'm happy to report they were well received and these bunnies now have their own new and very loving home. 

Illustration Friday _ Tension

No frills this week, this is a photo straight out of my sketchbook, not even scanned, but you get the gist well enough I am sure, without me having to gussy it up with lighting etc....

Helga pig was always trying to find new ways to dazzle and amaze her friends, but the tension mounted as even she wondered if she had gone too far this time, especially with Mums good china at stake....

I've been with my niece for the week and she has inspired me...

The focus of this weeks very quick illustration is of course the brides train. I didnt feel like drawing a locomotive this week. :D

I'd just like to state that no animals were seriously harmed in the making of this illustration  they were both being very very naughty so Tarzan had to pop them into a sleeper hold so that he could talk to them about manners later when they woke up and were more settled.
