I was saying in a response to the lovely people who commented on my last post I have an idea I’d love to do for “bottled” but time is rushing by on this one and by the time I could do it justice it will be a new word. I actually did this image some time ago in my Children’s book illustration course as one of my activities and I remembered it when the topic name came up so I thought I would go with it instead of my other idea…. Well long story short, here is my entry this week, I hope you like it & thanks for visting!
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteI really like this....all of the cutwork is awesome. I love your ocean. ...Have a great day! xo
Thanks Heather, you too? You back home now? Hope you had an awesome holiday xx
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot , makes me want to go on vacation :)
ReplyDeleteGreat work !
This must take a great deal of patience. The time is worth your effort here. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteI work a lot with cut paper too! I love this piece, especially the starfish!
ReplyDeleteI like it Janet! Glad you posted. :o)
ReplyDeleteReally lovely! Such nice soft colors, too!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet and summery, I can see myself there under that palmtree, nejoying the warm sand ;) ...but now I'm curious as to what your other idea was!
ReplyDeleteYou are forgiven for posting an older piece, we all feel the pressure of coming up with yet more genius before the next 'word' comes screaming down the pike :0
ReplyDeleteThis neat art makes me want to bust out the construction paper and mucilage myself, and give this quaint style a whirl. Thanks!
It's always a good time to post a summery seascape, and right on topic! Love the soft feel and the waves swirling along the shore! :o)
ReplyDeleteGreat bottled and really creative! This looks almost like a 3-color piece - very inspiring! Hope all is well :)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a wonderful response thank you everyone!
ReplyDeleteCindy & surreptitiousstudios, I did initially find it tricky cutting the paper but ended up quite enjoying it, I’m certainly not as intricate with my cutting as some people are!
Michele & Trudette, my inspiration was to capture something that felt Australian for me and beaches sprung to mind (but I think these are heavily inspired by holidays to nice tropical island locales as well :-)) and Ted and JA I hope you have as much fun as I did when I originally did this if you revisit this style, it felt great to think it might have inspired you to something you would enjoy. Thanks again everyone, I love your feedback and wonderful encouragement.
